News update!
So first things first: Baby Boy is doing very well. We had another ultrasound a couple weeks ago and loved watching him snuggle up, hide his face and practice swallowing. I was amazed to see how much more he looks like Gavin now. His profile is almost unidentifiable from the pictures I've seen of Gavin as baby. Needless to say, he's totally adorable. He's got a big head, a long torso and an almost non-existent bum. :) I've been feeling him move more and more, although he is breech and I have an anterior placenta. He likes to scrunch all up in my pelvis and kick my bladder. I sometimes wonder if I stood on my head, whether I'd be able to coerce him off my poor bladder... Anyway, we'll get another ultrasound in two more weeks to check for some heart functions that weren't clearly visible on our last ultrasound-- no complaints here! Always glad to have a peek! This pregnancy is going by very quickly.
Zoey is growing up so fast. Her vocabulary continues to flourish, and she is learning to string sentences together more and more. We've been trying to get her (and the house) ready for a baby. We've been setting up her new room, and last night she spent her first night in it (and in her toddler bed)! The room is not quite done yet, but when it is, I'll be sure to post a picture. It's pretty cute, if I might say so! And best of all, we got everything we needed for a very budget-friendly price. Yay for thrifty shopping!
Gavin is working as hard as ever at Devcon Security. He's currently standing in the balance somewhere between a lay-off and a promotion. It's looking pretty good, but you never know what might happen. Still we trust that the Lord will take care of us and provide for our needs, so long as we put Him first and do our part to honor what He gives us.
As for me, I've been... nesting? ish? I know technically "nesting" happens near the end of pregnancy, so I guess it's more second trimester energy/motivation. But I've been cleaning the house and trying to make it look nice. I'm a bit self-conscious about all our mismatched, second-hand furniture, but I try to make the most of it. Little by little, our house will become what I've always envisioned it would. Anyway, it's a pretty house. Oh, I've also been keeping up on my yoga, though it is getting harder to do. I'm really hoping the exercises I'm doing will enable me to have a faster, easier delivery this time around, not to mention recovery.
The weather is warming up and I'm so excited for Spring! We're looking forward to planting a garden and spending more time outside in general. I do love the sunshine.
Hoping you and yours are well!
Once upon a time...
